Washington County Soil and Water Conservation District

 

 

Mission Statement

 

The mission of the Washington County Soil and Water Conservation District is to work in cooperation with local, state, and federal agencies to provide education and information to the public, manage nutrients, maintain district owned civil structures, minimize soil erosion, provide technical assistance to local partners, and increase the efficiency of district employees and operations.  The district will encourage landowners to develop long term and short term goals to maximize sustainable forage yields, while limiting the transport of specific pollutants off the land owners’ property.  The district will convey land owner concerns about agronomical and environmental related issues to the appropriate authorities.

 

We accomplish our mission through various services, conservation projects and community educational events.
