A Nutrient Management Plan is required by state law in order to spread poultry litter.  We write them as a free service.  A NMP is available to anyone and it should greatly improve the production of your land.

Nutrient Application and Management

Within the Nutrient Surplus Area:

* After January 1, 2007, poultry litter application must be in accordance with  a Nutrient Management Plan.

* A Nutrient Management Plan is not required for commercial fertilizer application, but soil test analysis is necessary for the application of phosphorus.

* Nutrient Management Plans must be updated every 5 years.

* Records of nutrient application must be kept for 5 years.

* Contact the Conservation District to request a Nutrient Management Plan.
